The Fireworks team is very excited to announce Adobe Fireworks CS5 today!

This is going to be a great version of Fireworks, with many improvements that will appeal to a broad range of Fireworks users.

We listened to our users, and Fireworks CS5 is packed with features and improvements that you requested. We prioritized quality – stability, performance and polish – above all else for this version, and we made sure it is compatible and runs great on Windows 7 and Apple’s Snow Leopard OSes.

When I set out to build the application (the Educator 2 E-Learning Enterprise Management System) that led me to build the UcompOS RXF, I was operating under some very simple premises.

One such premise is, to the maximum extent possible, I didn’t want to be handcuffed exclusively to any one particular technology.

While I did make the decision to make the UcompOS Portal (i.e. the “Main Container”) a Flex 4 application (and I am very comfortable with this decision), as far as the sub-applications that would be launched inside or alongside the UcompOS Portal, I simply felt I absolutely needed to be able to work with as wide of a canvas as possible and for me this includes Flex, Flash, HTML/JavaScript/CSS, Adobe AIR for desktop UcompOS applications and even Microsoft Silverlight.

Man…I need more Google Friends.

After experiencing Google Wave and giving it a whirl I realized I would have more fun if I added people that shared common interests amongst Google Friends. The Adobe Fireworks CS4 team has released the much awaited patch to fix some of the big issues related to text and stability. The update can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/support/fireworks/downloads_updaters.html . The automatic update for the application from Adobe Update Manager (AUM) is coming shortly.

After applying the update, please ensure that the version screen now shows as 10.0.3.011.

We finally got around to setting up Fireworks designer to share PNGs that anyone can de-construct or you can start from pre-built templates. Keep a look out for an on-going supply of templates to download! We”ll also find sites and designs created with Fireworks and share them on Fireworks designer.
